Remember how after the trial and riots we pretended that this sort of thing was out of our collective system finally? Remember how we ignore how this happens all the fucking time, actually? Remember how Right Wing Whatevers refuse to admit racial profiling/stop-and-frisk/police brutality exists, while Right Wing Whatevers who are cops fully admit it exists because they think it actually works?
