
The “new” Ecce Homo is a powerful act of creative destruction, a break from the logic of endless reproduction of dead symbolism, a rejection of the rule of dead labour over the living, and, as such, represents a radical rejection of the logic and semiotics of capitalism in its postmodern stage. Any attempt at “restoration” is fascist insofar as it represents a violent rejection of (post)modernity in favour of an idealised romanticised past.
