bill maher is the liberal glenn beck

I think you’re being a bit too harsh on Glenn Beck. While Glenn Beck tends to say some pretty vile shit, he often also strays into the realm of craziness to the point of being nearly harmless. Also, who is Glenn Beck often speaking to and in influencing but the handful of Tea Party types who were going to be pretty insane about this sort of stuff anyway (see for example: National Review Online forums). Anyhow, since the Tea Party has gone pretty much out of the spotlight we haven’t heard shit from Beck. Meanwhile Maher persists. His broadcasts don’t reach as many as Beck, but his vile horseshit goes on. Maher’s a big fan of a lot of the ideas that perpetuate Power and an oppressive status quo. In particular there are two undercurrents gripping America presently that Maher likes to push: Racist Islamophobia and Sexist “Mens Rights” concerns. Maher’s a pretty useful example of bald American Liberalism in that sort of way, I guess. And before someone says “But Glenn Beck says the sort of thing encouraging violence” I’d like to point out that Maher, as a cheerleader for whatever atrocities we carry out in the Middle East because he sees any Muslim as essentially less than human, is quite the shit-eating violence encourager too.
