so I started learning the Wing Tsun long pole. Just learned this technique about a week and a half ago. As promised (by Sifu) it has been plaguing my dreams as I obsess over getting it right…
From last week’s long pole photo shoot with Sifu Alex.

QUOTE! “CWT Trainer Craig was by far the most technical and aggressive in phase 1.” Hell yes, I am getting “Most technical and aggressive” on my next set of business cards.
Sifu Alex launches Joseph off during the Animal Day ground fighting bout.
poor Joseph had to do ground fighting with Sifu cuz I had to bow out with my rib injury. I’d laugh but it hurts to do so.
Would you spar with Sifu Alex?
See Part 1 of the Animal Day photos on the City Wing Tsun facebook page.
Would I? yes. Have I? yes. My Sifu has Jiu Jitsu, Tae Kwan Do and of course Wing Tsun chops. He’s been in enough fights to more than know what he’s doing. Plus he knows everything we might pull and how to counter it. It’s basically the most beneficially educational nightmare you could ever have.
Animal Day snapshot (taken with Instagram)
much love and respect for all my sidai (and my Sije Nicole!) for totally beasting through today’s challenge. If only I hadn’t jacked up my rib after the first third… Looking forward to more photos, though.
Action shot from City Wing Tsun’s demo practice! That’s our Sifu Alex and Sihing Craig demonstrating Wing Tsun Long Pole against other weapons.
Love this shot not just for the image of Sifu taking out my legs with the long pole so I have to eat it, but also for the Ellis Island exhibit in the background, as if they’re looking on.
