The original term for the inch punch is “cheung kiu faat lik” or expelling force while in long bridge.

My Sifu (citywingtsun) gave a whole seminar on the inch punch and the concepts surrounding it once and it was frikken amazing, differentiating party/parlor trick from expressing force over short distance and/or while in long bridge….

My Sifu has an article in the upcoming issue of Wing Chun Illustrated on Wing Tsun falling techniques (Hau Lok Dei Faat). Just a small part of our anti-grappling program and something you can expect to see in class. If that leaves you jonesing for more, he also had an article in Issue #2 on Biu Tze (excerpted online), in issue #14 on the Long Pole weapon (one of my favorites), and issue #7 on modernizing Wing Tsun while preserving its classical spirit.
